i love being busy

but not too busy

life is really great. i don't know how many people feel that way while student teaching. i suppose i'm really lucky. everyone who knows my cooperating teacher tells me how fortunate i am and i have to agree. he's phenomenal. i've come into a mature, fully developed curriculum and a really supportive staff. in a way i wish it wasn't temporary.

especially since i graduate in 3 months and
all our local districts have put a freeze on hiring
bummer

i'm learning so much!

*it's ok if kids are a little weird
*sometimes the kids whose first language is spanish are the better readers
*the best classroom management sometimes involves letting the kids be noisy
*gum and note passing are not that big of a deal
*kids will make fun of the teacher for lame jokes and quirky habits, yet these are the things that really endear them to you
*teenagers really are s.m.a.r.t
*but they think they are sneakier than they are
