I'm done. The quest for the perfect homemade bubble solution has come to a close and the winner is... (a soft and effortlessly rythmic drumroll echos in the distance)

I know. I should've never doubted. It is of course, mighty similar to attempt #1, but this time I didn't run out of ingredients. This one works well even if you halve the recipe but forget to halve the corn syrup.... it just leaves you mighty sticky afterward. Fortunately the clean up can be just as fun as the mess making.
I still like attempt #2 the best for quick small batches to refil standard bottles. This one is better for making bigger bubbles or experimenting with unusual wands. The batch is huge though, which is ok, because spills happen. a. lot. On that note, does anyone know if corn syrup is bad for lawns??? I may have some 'splainin to do.
As for our favorite dippers? Here's the low down:
1: Fine mesh strainer. If you blow really really hard you'll get a giant mass of fine bubbles all stuck together in a weird blob. Good for a laugh.
2: 3-4 inch cookie cutters. Work like a charm!
3: Straws. Hands down Aeryn's favorite. It doesn't make many bubbles at once but they are teeny and she loved that.
4: Slotted utensils. These work best swooshed through the air as though flying like Peter Pan.
5: My favorite, no question. Martha makes these taking both ends off of a can but I just used the outer slidey part of the Pampered Chef Measure-all cup. Worked like a charm.
6: Tuna strainer. Meh. Better bubbles than the fine mesh strainer but therin loses appeal.
7: Mini cookie cutters. Great for mini hands.
8: Need I explain??
9: A loop of yarn through two cut straws. This is my second favorite if only because I'm determined to make it work. It's good for giant bubbles that pop all over you and get you soupy. But hey- that's what the sprinklers are for!
