2009 Year in Review

Whew. What a year.

january:
my baby girl turned 6
we had our first real birthday party
made lots of cupcakes
babysat cosy
jumped on sofa cushions
started student teaching with high levels of both anxiety and naivete
and had visions of butterflies

february:
made felt heart button covers
went sledding
took pictures in the car and went to the movies
fell asleep in random places because student teaching was exhausting beyond description
flew kites in the driveway

march:
the month that time forgot
finished student teaching
laptop crashed, twice
hence the lack of picture

april:
warming up enough to get back to the park
lots of playdates
a bunch of attempted garden sprouts
getting the budget crafting groove back on
Easter egg hunts
loads of homemade Belgian waffles
hired by the University for summer!

may:
took a contract for fall
graduation!
splurged on awesome cake plate
created the "whoville stackers" mini pancake tradition
aeryn started soccer
we hiked the Y
homemade donuts
elementary school dance festival
lots of playdates with new best-friend

june:
turned 33 and got the crazy green dust mitt from the bug
homemade bubble challenge!
road trip to colorado
re-discovered love of s'mores pop-tarts
finished teaching summer class at the university

july:
camping
lots of other stuff that time forgot because she didn't organize photos well :(

august:
baby giraffe at the zoo!
aeryn's dad came to visit
bug started school
i started school
lots of professional development and new teacher training
fear, anxiety, and excitement

september:
failed garden crops
new neighbors (with kids!)
Lovey-snails
baked goods with fresh fruit
falling in love with cheap ikea bamboo kitchenware
surviving first parent-teacher conferences

october:
black widow rice krispie treats
future photographer aeryn
foot-ghosts that are difficult to tell apart due to similarity in size...
obsession with key lime cheesecake
scarecrow festival, pumpkin patches, and bouncey castles
pony rides
trick-or-treating
other obsession with quinoa (quite a food month!)
aeryn carving her own pumpkin for the first time ever
cinnamon sugar roasted pumpkin seeds
craft booth season
teeth start a-falling out in quick succession!

november:
katie's birthday party
shirley temple
wii fit
hockey games and concession stand dinners
road trip to new mexico
re-loving the rooster lamp
crazy big, unconcealed bee hives
aztec ruins

december:
sleepovers
festival of trees
lots of family time
VACATION!!!
extreme patience followed by extreme spoiling
junk food galore
closure on yet another chapter...
