...are feeling drab
perhaps it's the basement living with little to no natural light
that makes even my most hardy houseplants cringe
with options of the stark yellow from standard CFL bulbs, or the blinding blue/white from daylight CFL's
i don't need lots of color so much as i need light, and having cement window wells for a view is getting old
(though i am grateful for a place to live)
the rain lately has mostly melted the small glacier which took residence outside my door
and when i looked outside yesterday morning i saw this!

my mother's day plant from last year, is still alive and GREEN

even though it had been buried beneath two feet of snow for weeks
small miracle i tell ya
now i think i can make it til spring
whew.
