sugar and spice

today at church the men volunteered to take over all the jobs (teaching primary, youth, running the library) so we women could have a sentimental schmooze fest about visiting teaching. as expected, people were crying after moments and children were picked up from class with chocolate milk spills on their good sunday clothes (see above), but the little people were happy as can be. we should put the men in charge more often.

last week i deviated from my grocery list (which i'm trying sooo hard to avoid but just could not resist) and bought the most adorable halloween sprinkles. ok, so really they were just normal sprinkles, but what i loved was the addition of purple. just added a special som'n to the mix. couple that with alissa posting a killer-fab sugar cookie recipe and sunday afternoon baking was re-activated. we took last week off, and i can't imagine why. it's the best thing on earth.

aeryn grabbed whatever cookie cutter grabbed her fancy, though i only got out 100 of my 18 million cookie cutters for her selection. it seems to have provided adequate options. more frosting ended up in aeryn's mouth than on the cookies, and the sprinkles were consumed straight up. with all the finger-licking goodness we kept all the little lady designed ones for ourselves. we are ushering in the next several months of holiday-ness in bold, consumable fashion.

i don't know what was more exciting. the indescribably adorable stegosaurus or getting to use my pampered chef stackable cooling racks that i purchased brand new from my favorite local second hand store for $1 each.

Soooo glad you enjoyed them!! I froze a ton of (unfrosted) cookie's in the freezer and a bag of frosting in the fridge and we ate a cookie here and there for about 2 weeks+! AWESOME! Looks like Aeryn had a great time!! I want some of those yummy sprinkles too... mmmm....
